A PTSA board position specifically needed: Exec VP
With a rising 8th grader, next year will be my last year at TPMS. Ensuring board continuity and institutional knowledge will be invaluable to future boards. Therefore, we’re specifically looking for an Exec VP interested in taking on the role of President in the following year, or at least who can be a knowledge keeper to future PTSA presidents. Any president makes the role with the time and energy available to them, but knowing some key pieces (rather than learning from scratch), makes the role much easier to perform. Consider joining me next year in this very important and incredibly rewarding role!

8th Grade Dance Committee Needed
Have an 8th grader, or a 7th grader? We need you to help continue this school tradition. It’s so much fun to see these kids engage in this epic rite-of-passage! We’ve tentatively booked Friday, June 12th for the 8th grade promotion dance (this dance is for 8th graders only).
- This event depends on someone to lead it (or it will be cancelled)! The PTSA will book the dj and photobooth, provide a budget and support.
- What’s needed? Choose a theme, order decorations, select the drinks and snacks, organize the parent chaperones, and of course, be there on June 12.

Join Us to Learn the Latest on Special Ed Services, Staffing and Support
The Division of Specialized Support Services will hold a webinar for families from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, focused on what’s new in special education services, staffing and supports — and why. MCPS special education leaders will provide context for what this means for schools and classrooms. The session will be held virtually, featuring a brief presentation followed by questions and answers. More details, including the Zoom link for the meeting, will be shared in the coming weeks.

Se necesita comité de danza de octavo grado
¿Tiene un estudiante de octavo grado o de séptimo grado? Necesitamos que usted ayude a continuar esta tradición escolar. ¡Es muy divertido ver a estos niños participar en este rito de iniciación épico! Hemos reservado tentativamente el viernes 12 de junio para el baile de promoción de 8º grado (este baile es solo para estudiantes de 8º grado).
¡Este evento depende de que alguien lo dirija (o será cancelado)!La PTSA reservará el DJ y el fotomatón, proporcionará un presupuesto y apoyo.

La División de Servicios de Apoyo Especializados llevará a cabo un seminario web para familias de 6 a 7:30 p. m. El miércoles 6 de mayo se centró en las novedades en servicios, personal y apoyos de educación especial, y por qué. Los líderes de educación especial de MCPS brindarán un contexto de lo que esto significa para las escuelas y las aulas. La sesión se llevará a cabo virtualmente y contará con una breve presentación seguida de preguntas y respuestas.
