MCCPTA Seeks Your Views on School Chromebook Use
The MCCPTA Technology Committee invites all families to share your views regarding use of school-issued Chromebooks! Parents have reached out to us to express their concerns, and we wanted to provide a way for individuals to share their specific concerns, and also collect data and testimonials to share with MCPS and the Board of Education. As the Technology Committee is also considering what recommendations to provide to MCPS on its draft artificial intelligence policy, it is especially important for us to share how technology has been and is being used in the classroom now. Please make sure you share this opportunity to make your voice heard on this important issue.

Wednesday, Dec 3, 7 pm – “Game On: Creating Safe Gaming Spaces Together” Townhall
Gaming continues to be very popular among youth with new platforms and apps introduced daily, bringing new challenges and opportunities around youth digital safety and well-being. Join this townhall hosted by National PTA to gain insight on what young people are experiencing and looking for in gaming platforms and how families can take positive, practical and proactive approaches to ensure these platforms are places where their children can thrive and be safe.

MCCPTA solicita su opinión sobre el uso de Chromebooks en la escuela
El Comité de Tecnología de MCCPTA invita a todas las familias a compartir su opinión sobre el uso de los Chromebooks escolares. Algunos padres nos han contactado para expresar sus inquietudes, y queríamos brindarles una oportunidad para que compartieran sus inquietudes específicas, además de recopilar datos y testimonios para compartir con MCPS y la Junta de Educación. Los videojuegos siguen siendo muy populares entre los jóvenes, con nuevas plataformas y aplicaciones que se lanzan a diario, lo que genera nuevos desafíos y oportunidades en torno a la seguridad y el bienestar digital de los jóvenes. Únase a este foro organizado por la PTA Nacional para comprender mejor las experiencias y las búsquedas de los jóvenes en las plataformas de juegos, y cómo las familias pueden adoptar enfoques positivos, prácticos y proactivos para garantizar que estas plataformas sean lugares donde sus hijos puedan prosperar y estar seguros.
